Innovative entrepreneur Kim Ik-hwan met (30) Voyager X CEO Nam Se-dong

Forbes, 2021. 11. 23.

Like Netflix's 'No Rules Rules', it was impressive that the rules were kept to a minimum and constantly changed, and that they were operating an unlimited vacation system. In addition to this, if there is a unique culture unique to Voyager X.

I wonder how to make my employees work. In other words, it's my job to think about how to get employees to do what they want to do on their own. In my experience, even if I'm more likely to be right, I leave my employees to come up with the ideas they want and try them out. This is because, if you have to do what you want to do, even if it doesn't work, you are more likely to take responsibility and succeed. Even the most successful ideas are more likely to fail as soon as the employees don't want them. So I am happy even if my choice is wrong. Voyager X's ideas must meet the three values of user, teamwork, and growth. When these three values conflict with one another, the other is discarded.

Tech in Asia, 2021. 06. 23.

SoftBank Ventures Asia, the early-stage VC arm of SoftBank Group, announced that it has participated in the US$27 million series A round of South Korea-based artificial intelligence startup VoyagerX. SoftBank Ventures, Altos Ventures, and Yellowdog invested US$9 million each in the round. Founded in 2017, VoyagerX develops AI-based solutions to solve everyday problems. These include solutions such as vFlat, a mobile scanner app that analyzes curved surfaces of documents or books and scans them flat, and video-editing app Vrew. It also created Ownglyph, which converts a person’s handwriting into a personalized font.

[MINT] Toss, VoyagerX... There are companies in Korea that work like Netflix

The Chosun Ilbo, 2020. 10. 12.

Nam Se-dong, who was renowned as a founder from the'genius developer', said, “We are going to work like this, too, when he sees the recently released Netflix corporate culture book'No Rules' (original title'No Rules Rules'). Many Korean startups are like that.” When he joins Voyager X, an artificial intelligence (AI) software developer he founded in 2017, he receives information about the company. The first item is'Ruleruul'. CEO Nam was Neowiz in 1998 He is a developer who created the web-based chat service'SayClub' as an intern, and after moving to Naver, he developed a photo shoot app'B612', which recorded 300 million downloads. I am trying to apply it.”

Interview with Nam Se-dong: "Listen to only half of what your seniors say"

JoongAng Ilbo, 2020. 05. 06.

“Most of the students who are told that they are good at studying in Korea write down the words of the teacher as they are and say that they follow the words of their seniors. Even college students just accept the professor's words. I hope not. The world keeps changing, so don't listen to your seniors too well. Isn't there a story that a person who dreams of becoming an idol group singer can refer to from a senior singer who only sings trot, or something that doesn't? BTS couldn't be born if they accepted the advice of'Practice singing while it's time to tweet'.”

Nam Se-dong who developed One-click chat program at age 19 says "Deep learning will turn over the world."

JoongAng Ilbo, 2019. 11. 12.

“Deep learning (a computer's self-learning method that analyzes and infers patterns) will bring a bigger paradigm shift than PCs, the Internet, and smartphones. That much, the shape of our lives will change greatly. Many jobs will disappear and be created. It is natural for people to feel anxious and fearful. But as with other technologies in history, artificial intelligence will enable humans to reach their greater potential and live happily. I believe so.”

VoyagerX CEO Nam Se-dong interview

Estima's Internet Story, 2019. 03. 05.

With this young developer group, Bansu is a college student intern, and CEO Nam is fiercely challenging a project that solves problems with artificial intelligence. When new ideas come up, they ask social media to discuss and verify them fiercely.

“I have done 20 to 30 projects. Some were discarded in 2-3 weeks. We're making things that can produce amazing results with Wow.”

AI that gives subtitles will be the savior of 'video hard work'?

Biz Korea, 2018. 10. 26.

Transforming speech into text made a surprising change. It is now possible to configure the editing timeline in the form of a word processor or PowerPoint rather than a'bar' form. It is possible to grasp at a glance what, when, where, and what'I' in the video said. In addition, you can intuitively find edit points so that the words you wish to enter into the video can be well connected. For example, if you click on the text'Fool', you can find the part of the video that says'Fool', and if you delete the text'Fool', the part of the video that says'Fool' is erased.
